Explanatory Note

(This does not form part of the Notification, but is intended to indicate its general purpose.)

Sub-section (1) of section 565 of the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994 (20 of 1994) empowers Government to make rules to carry out all or any of the purpose of the Act. Government have decided to make rules regarding remission of kist to lessee, licensee or contractor who had. been empowered by contract to collect fees due to Municipality or to collect profits from Municipal properties or receive wages for rendering services and, not because of his fault, has been unable to collect such fees, profits or fees. This Notification is intended to achieve the above purpose.
